About the Kitchissippi Times

Established in 2003, the Kitchissippi Times is an Ottawa-area community newspaper owned by Great River Media. KT is published every month except January and July, and is printed at least 15,000 times per issue.

Extra copies of the Kitchissippi Times are available at distribution points along Richmond Road and Wellington Street West. Look for the gold coloured boxes or blue newspaper racks across the ward at various community hubs. Click on the map below to find the closest one near you:

Good things to know

The entire digital version of the newspaper is uploaded to kitchissippi.com after the printed paper is distributed. This means you can read a digital duplicate of the entire paper, ads and all, on your computer, tablet, and smartphone. You can read back issues right here.

The Kitchissippi Times also publishes an email newsletter. This is a great option for those who don’t receive the paper but still want to stay connected to the community. The e-newsletter is sent twice a month and offers news highlights as well as a link to the digital edition. Subscribers are often the first to find out about new contests too.

I well remember when my father took me to open an account for me when I was 6 years old. Even though I haven’t lived in the area for many years, I still maintain the same account for the last 67 years. The closure of the branch feels like being further cut off from my home ground.
