Sponsored: Instaelectric set for growth with acquisition of Quadrant Engineering

Expanded company poised to offer enhanced engineering and data centre solutions across the Americas.

When Canadian information technology engineering consultancy firm Instaelectric has something to celebrate, they do it in style. A recent event held at Kitchissippi’s Soca Kitchen saw colleagues, clients and several ambassadors gathered to enjoy delicious food and toast Instaelectric’s recent acquisition of Quadrant Engineering.

Since the company’s foundation over thirty years ago, Instaelectric has played an integral role in developing mission-critical data centre solutions. Headquartered in Ottawa, the firm also has offices in Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama and Venezuela.

“With the acquisition of Quadrant, we are excited to be able to expand our service offerings to our clients throughout North, Central and South America,” says Gonzalo Manrique, Instaelectric’s CEO. “Quadrant’s expertise is very much complementary to our own; we can now focus on leveraging our project management experience and capitalize on Quadrant’s deep technical strengths in both the residential and commercial markets.”

In broadening its service portfolio, Instaelectric will fulfill a longstanding desire to diversify its offerings in the electro-mechanical design industry. “We are pleased to have acquired high quality talent with an excellent geographical fit and look forward to doubling our team of engineers over the next eighteen months,” adds Gonzalo. “This acquisition affords us the unique opportunity to accelerate growth and more quickly achieve our company’s mid-term goals. We see significant value creation potential through synergies and operational efficiency, both at home and abroad.”

Instaelectric has a long and successful record designing, building and operating modern data centres, and along the way has acquired significant technical and project management expertise coupled with detailed knowledge of international markets. With the addition of Quadrant’s competencies, Gonzalo is confident the combined strengths of the two firms will improve Instaelectric’s Group’s competitiveness.

“Ours is an interesting example of how a Canadian company can innovate and grow. Ottawa is an excellent base for expanding our business and we will be looking for bright, young electrical and mechanical engineers to join our team and help us expand into new markets and explore new technologies,” says Gonzalo.
