Come along on a Tastes of Wellington West photo tour

By Jared Davidson –

Wellington West is home to a number of restaurants. From Allium to Hintonburger, the neighbourhood has become known for its restaurant culture, and each year Tastes of Wellington West gives the community a chance to shine on many levels: art, shopping, and most of all, food.

Now closing in on its 10th year, Tastes of Wellington West has morphed with the community. It has grown to include numerous local attractions and now coincides with the first weekend of the West End Studio Tour. In addition, the seasonal neighbourhood beer fest had its final showing, highlighting local stouts. Unfortunately, it rained. Not to be deterred, the festivities carried on through looming thunder and torrential downpour.

Bridgehead brought their bread game to Taste of Wellington, exhibiting their diverse lineup of tasty offerings. They handed out samples paired with their trademark brews, an excellent pairing.

Carben was handing out samples of lamb with cucumber caviar and lemon. It was sweet, savoury, and far too good to be a free sample. Needless to say, the limit was one per person.
